Bright resigns from Beth Emeth

Rabbi Alan Bright has resigned from Temple Beth Emeth Congregation of the Northwest Valley.

"He couldn't make a living here" after Benley Manor filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on July 11, said George Sherman, president of Beth Emeth. Bright was managing member of Benley Manor and also served as cantor of the Beth Emeth congregation. Bright served Beth Emeth since Aug. 13, 1999.

Sherman speculates that Bright will be moving "back East." A search committee headed by Arnold Becker has been set up to find a replacement for Bright.
