Alison Center of Highland Park, Ill., and Jeff Merzel of Scottsdale, announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Iris and Bob Center of Highland Park; Shelly and Josh Asher of Scottsdale; and Len Merzel of San Diego.

The bride-to-be has a bachelor's degree in communications studies from Northwestern University.

The groom-to-be has bachelor's degrees in economics and sociology from Northwestern University and is an energy trader for American Electric Power.

A March wedding is planned in Chicago.

Gregg Woodnick

Jodi Tilsner and Gregg Woodnick, both of Scottsdale, announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Gail and Thomas Tilsner of Tucson; Joel Woodnick of Scottsdale; and the late Ellen Woodnick.

The bride-to-be has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Arizona and a master's degree in social work from Arizona State University. She is a coordinator of Jewish services for the Jewish Family and Children's Service in Phoenix.

The groom-to-be has a bachelor's degree in philosophy and communication from the University of Arizona and a law degree from Arizona State University College of Law. He is an attorney for Lon Tubman, P.C.

A Dec. 29 wedding is planned at Congregation Anshei Israel in Tucson.
