'Sephardic tradition'

"The Hidden Sephardic Tradition" is the topic of the second lecture of "Writing Spanish, Thinking Jewish: Four Talks by Latin American Jewish Writers," at 3:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in the Language and Literature building, Room 112, on the Arizona State University main campus.

Guest speaker is Professor Angelina Munoz-Huberman, who teaches at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. The free lecture is sponsored by ASU's Jewish Studies Program, Religious Studies and English departments, Center for Latin American Studies and Women's Studies Program and the Jess Schwartz Jewish Community High School. 'Shabbat Alive!'

"Shabbat Alive!" a multimedia compact disc by musician Rick Recht, was released Oct. 1.

It includes a short movie, a slide show, screensavers and more. The compact disc features melodies for Shabbat, weekday prayers and performances of the Rick Recht band with six youth choirs from St. Louis and Kansas City.
