People on the moveGary Shapiro, long-time Valley real estate agent, has been promoted to branch manager of the northeast Scottsdale branch office of Coldwell Banker Success Realty. Shapiro will lead a team of 51 real estate professionals from the office at 9035 E. Mountain View Road.Edward Drezner became a licensee of National Bank Drafting Systems Inc. of Fort Worth, Texas in August. Drezner is headquartered in Sun Lakes and will provide services including automated payment systems, electronic phone checks and electronic check recovery. The Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort has been chosen by the readers of Meetings & Conventions magazine as one of 204 excellent meeting facilities to receive the 2001 Gold Key Award. This is the resort's 10th year to receive the award. Arizona State University has announced its 2001-2002 class of Community Fellows. Fellows are Jemeille Ackourey, vice president of club operations, Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix; Paul Berumen, assistant to the mayor, City of Phoenix and founding member, Coalition for Latino Political Action; Rhonda Perez, government affairs director for KB Home and chairwoman of the Gilbert Citizen's Action Network; and Kevin Robinson, assistant police chief, Phoenix Police Department. The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce has announced the 14th annual ATHENA Awards finalists. The winner of the 2001 ATHENA Award will be announced at an Oct. 11 luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa Pavilion. Brent DeRaad has been hired by The Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau as vice president of membership and corporate communications. DeRaad will be responsible for developing membership benefit programs, overseeing visitor center operations and communicating Scottsdale CVB and industry issues with the tourism and local community. |
