'Spice of Life'

"An opening reception for "Spice of Life: Markets & Jewish Merchants the World Over" will take place 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Sylvia Plotkin Judaica Museum of Temple Beth Israel, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale.

The color photography exhibit by Rabbi Joshua Eli Plaut shows Jewish merchants from around the world, including Central Asia, Israel and Turkey. The images show Jews living and working in a way of life that has been commonplace for centuries.

The exhibit runs through Dec. 30.

Museum hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.

A $3 donation is suggested.
