People on the moveLa Pita Café, located at 7366 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, has celebrated its one-year anniversary. The restaurant serves ethnic Israeli food.The King David School, part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, thanks Cooley Advertising & Public Relations for its contributions for the fifth annual Masked Ball in April to raise funds for the Community Jewish Day School. The firm donated the layout and invitation for the event, which helped raise $150,000. The Arizona Brain Injury Association held a "Golfing for Prevention" fund-raiser to promote brain injury prevention, research, education and advocacy. John Brewer of the Law Offices of Charles M. Brewer, organized the event. Mike Lippman scored a hole-in-one, worth $10,000. He will donate part of his prize to the BIA-AZ. Five trustees of Ballet Arizona have been named to offices on the board. Officers are Jenny St. John, chairwoman; Robert Barnard, vice-chairman; Helene Fenlon, treasurer; Diane Peterson Kopp, secretary; and Maire Orav Simingon, vice-chairman, marketing. Merv Griffin's Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas has named Shaun Robinson general manager to oversee resort operations. Robinson brings more than 20 years experience in all aspects of hospitality management and marketing to the Hilton Scottsdale. Most recently, he held the title of resident manager at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. John Richen was presented the 2001 Beautification Award for Art in Private Development from the City of Tempe. The award was for his work "Elemental Ascension," designed and created for the Park Plaza Building at Fountainhead Corporate Park. |
