Marina Uvaydova, a 1998 graduate of Forest Hills High School in Forest Hills, N.Y., will receive a $1,500 scholarship from USA Funds and USA Education, Inc. Uvaydova plans to pursue a degree in dental hygiene at Phoenix College.

Hannah Adelman was named Volunteer of the Year by Life Care Center of Paradise Valley in recognition of her devotion to residents and the community. Adelman has volunteered for LCCPV for more than 11 years. She now volunteers at 21 facilities, bringing Jewish services to residents in long-term care facilities.

Shannon Fox has been named corporate sales manager for Chaparral Suites Resort in Scottsdale.

Gloria Smith has been hired as the new principal for Gateway Community High School in Phoenix.
