People on the moveLanny Lahr, a business consultant in the health care industry and president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, will serve as chairman of the fund-raising gala "Herberger Headliners X," to be held March 15-16, 2002. Leah Hoffman Langerman, founder and owner of Hoffman and Hock, a Phoenix-based wealth management and financial planning firm, will serve as event chairwoman.Craig Maron has been named director of community relations and fund development for Jewish Family & Children's Service in Greater Phoenix. Among his responsibilities will be the development of an annual campaign structure to raise money for counseling and other services provided by the nonprofit agency. Maron brings 15 years of entrepreneurial and executive experience to JFCS. Ava Keenan, director of education at Temple Chai for 17 years, has been chosen by the National Association of Temple Educators and the Union of American Hebrew Congregations to participate in the Jewish Educator's Kallah Program in Colorado Springs, Colo., for the 2001 school year. Keenan, one of two educators from American congregations to fill this position, will meet and study with Rabbi Jan Katzew, the UAHC education director. Heath Blumstein of the Jewish Community Foundation of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix has been selected to participate in the annual Sherman Seminar for Emerging Professionals at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass., this month. The focus of the seminar will be "Leadership and Change: The Professional Challenge." Helen Goldman, owner of Primo Promos and a former employee of the Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, was presented with the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award in the leadership category by the Women's Chamber of Commerce at the 2001 Culture of Women in Business event. The award recognizes women who start and run their own business with skill, inspiration, social responsibility and leadership. Jan Jacobson was presented a Presidential Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter, in recognition of her local, regional and national contributions to the broadcast industry. Jacobson served as the chapter's president and national trustee and is now the president of JB Communications, a media, public relations, advertising and marketing firm in Phoenix. Tricia Loscher has been appointed director of exhibitions and programming at the Heard Museum North in Scottsdale. The position was developed to increase the level of programming and exhibitions offered at the museum's branch. IMPACT for Enterprising Women, the oldest women's networking group in Phoenix, will honor 10 women at the 16th annual IMPACT Celebration of Success luncheon in September. The Arizona women will be honored for success, overcoming difficulties, mentoring and community service. Honorees are Pat Auletta, store manager of Neiman Marcus Last Call; Rita Block, of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; Trinity Donovan, CEO of I.C.A.N.; Janet Drez, president of A Perfect Solution; Helen Goldman, owner of Primo Promos; Mary Lou Hapner, of Young, Smith and Peacock; Yolanda Callazon Kizer, president of Casa Fenix Merchandising/Builders' Publishing Co.; Jean Moberly, of Weekenders USA; Hazel Richards, regional director of Alzheimer's Association AZ, Greater Phoenix Region; and Shirley Schmitz, owner of S.G.
