Brandes alums sought

Editor:

I am seeking former students of the Brandes School in Tucson. The private school, which was associated with the National Foundation for Asthmatic Children, closed in the late 1950s.

To date, I have located about 50 people in 18 states and Canada.

I would appreciate hearing from other Brandes alumni. I can be reached at: bashfw@aol.com or 4509 Oak Manor Drive #73, Fort Worth, TX 76116; 817-763-8529.

Rabbi makes 'housecalls'

Editor:
We were both touched and amazed by a visitor last evening (July 11) in our home. While entertaining relatives and friends, a sudden blackout occurred, leaving us to use Shabbat candles to illuminate the darkness.

A knock on our door is heard, and to our surprise, Rabbi Robert Kravitz appears with a flashlight in hand, asking about our safety.

It must be the new millennium when in 2001, the rabbi comes calling. Thank you, rabbi, for your concern.
