Chai Society announces contest winners
More than 100 children from The King David School, Pardes Jewish Day School and Phoenix Hebrew Academy participated in the Junior Chai Society drawing contest, sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix.
The drawings illustrated the themes of tzedakah (righteousness), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness).
The winners of the art contest are:
- Ariel Fabrega, fourth grade, The King David School
- Adam Fishman, third grade, Phoenix Hebrew Academy
- Rachel Groetsch, fourth grade, Pardes Jewish Day School
- Sarah Katulary, first grade, Phoenix Hebrew Academy
- Alexander Khan, kindergarten, Pardes Jewish Day School
- Ophir Rodich, first grade, The King David School
- Alexandra Saper, third grade, The King David School
- Sarah Stevens, fourth grade, The King David School
- Hanna Weltman, second grade, The King David School
- Chaya Wolfe, fourth grade, Phoenix Hebrew Academy
The Junior Chai Society is a federation program designed to help school-age children have positive experiences in helping their community and repairing the world. A formal program kickoff will occur in the fall.
