Filmmaker searches for what's in a nameFilmmaker Alan Berliner explores what a name really means in "The Sweetest Sound," to air at 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, on KAET-Channel 8.The film looks at the historical origin of names and their social roles and the filmmaker interviews people on the streets of New York City, visits various name societies around the country - such as the Jim Smith Society - and examines the origins of his own name. Berliner also holds an Alan Berliner dinner, to which 12 others who share his name attend a dinner in his home. |
