Shari Weissman
Andrew Maslick

Shari Heather Weissman and Andrew Mitchel Maslick, both of Scottsdale, announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Janet and Walter Weissman of Scottsdale; and Rhoda and Barry Maslick of New York City.

The bride-to-be received a bachelor's degree in communication from Arizona State University and is a paralegal for Palmisano & Buck Law Firm in Tempe.

The groom-to-be received a bachelor's degree in marketing from the State University of New York at Binghamton and is currently studying to become a certified financial planner. He is an investor representative for the Vanguard Group in Scottsdale. An April 2002 wedding is planned.



Deborah Stern
David Silver

Deborah Ariel Stern and David Brian Silver, both of Philadelphia, announce their engagement.

Parents of the couple are Jennifer Stern of Denver; the late Edward Stern; and Etta and Arnold Silver of Phoenix.

The bride-to-be received a bachelor's degree in communications and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She is a healthcare reporter for the Bloomberg News, Princeton, N.J.

The groom-to-be received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Stanford University and a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Arizona. He is a professor of philosophy at the University of Delaware in Newark.

An August 2001 wedding is planned in Denver.
