Drumming with Ruach

"Beat the Heat," three drumming classes led by Amy Ford, master drumming teacher and performer, will be hosted this summer by Ruach Hamidbar - Spirit of the Desert.

Ford will teach drumming techniques and Rabbi Ayla Grafstein will teach Jewish chants to drums 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Grafstein's home in Scottsdale.

Additional classes are 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at Palo Cristi Presbyterian Church, 3535 E. Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley and 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Grafstein's home.

Cost is $40 for all three classes or $15 per class. Children are free. Some drums and assorted percussion instruments will be available.
