Ina Levine Campus to break ground

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus will be 10 a.m. Sunday, May 20, at the southeast corner of Sweetwater Avenue and Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale.

"This is nothing less than one of the greatest days in the life of the Phoenix Jewish community," said Art Paikowsky, executive vice president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix. "We are beginning the expansion of our infrastructure to provide some of the best services and programs in the country."

The event will launch the construction of the 30-acre, 110,000 square foot facility. The ceremony, open to the public, will include a children's choir, blessings by the Valley's rabbis and greetings from elected officials.

The campus will be home to the federation, the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center, the Bureau of Jewish Education, the Council for Jews with Special Needs, Phoenix Hebrew Academy and the Jewish Community Foundation. It is also the future home of the Jess Schwartz Jewish Community High School and The King David School.
