Judith Fineman has left her position as director of The King David School "by mutual agreement" with the board of the school, according to President Ira Shulman. Donna Troisi is serving as interim principal.

A note informing parents of the change was sent home with students upon their return from spring break on Monday, April 16, according to Troisi, who began her stint as principal on April 18.

The school has hired a search firm to find a new head of school for the upcoming school year, said Shulman.

Fineman began serving as director of The King David School on July 1, 1999. At that time, the school changed its name from Solomon Schechter Day School to The King David School and moved from the campus of Beth El Congregation in Phoenix to Temple Beth Israel in Scottsdale.

Troisi is currently completing her final year as director of education at Har Zion Congregation, and says she is currently exploring opportunities for the upcoming school year.

"We wish (Judith) well in her endeavors and I'm very happy to be here and finish out the year with a wonderful school," said Troisi.

Fineman declined comment.
