Gan Yeladeem move approved

An approval by a Phoenix bankruptcy court on Feb. 27 gave the go ahead for Educational Properties Investors, Inc. to sell Gan Yeladeem the site currently leased by the Tesseract Charter School in Phoenix, said Gan Yeladeem principal Susan Heller.

The new site, at 3916 E. Paradise Lane in Phoenix, will house Gan Yeladeem: The Looking Glass School, a charter school for kindergarten through seventh grade; Gan Yeladeem Learning Center and Day School, a preschool for infants through kindergartners; Camp Kaiyitz, a summer camp; and Congregation Gan Shalom.

Gan Yeladeem will execute a short-term lease with Tesseract, so the charter school can finish off its school year, Heller said.

Gan Yeladeem and Tesseract officials will meet next week to work on scheduling issues.

Camp Kaiyitz begins June 4, with the first camp Shabbat on Friday, June 8.

The new site is 3.9 miles west of Gan Yeladeem's current location at Temple Kol Ami near 64th Street and Greenway Road in Scottsdale.
