Yiddish films

A Yiddish Film Festival starts Feb. 27 at Benley Manor, 5330 W. Union Hills Drive, Glendale.

A classic Yiddish film will be shown for free 2 p.m. each Tuesday through March 27 at the retirement community.

Featured films are "Mamele" on Feb. 27; "Legendary Voices" about cantors of yesteryear on March 6; "The Dybbuk" on March 13; "The Cantor's Son," the life of Moishe Oysher on March 20; and "Yossele Rosenblat," about his life and his hymns on March 27.

The Jerusalem Room, a glatt kosher restaurant, will be open noon-1:30 p.m. each day of the festival. A meat buffet is offered for $9.95.
