Loca Rosa performs Jewish folk music

Loca Rosa, the Byelaroza Eastern European Folk Dance Ensemble and percussionist Sule Greg Wilson, will perform "Strangers in a Strange Land," in concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Kerr Cultural Center, 6110 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale.

"Loca Rosa," the stage name for folk musician Tish Dvorkin, will perform Jewish folk songs from ancient to modern times, from Israel and Spain to Russia and North America.

The concert combines Jewish songs by folk and Yiddish theater composers such as Mark Warshawsky and Avrom Goldfaden with French classical composer Maurice Ravel and poems by English poet Lord Byron set to Hebrew melodies.

General admission is $11; reserved seating is $14. Student, child, senior and group rates are available. A $1 facility fee per ticket will be added.

Call 480-965-5377.
