Blue Box Boom raises $6,000

Pupils of the religious school at Beth El Congregation in Phoenix raised the most money, $6.48 per student, in the Jewish National Fund Blue Box Boom competition.

Second place is Temple Beth Sholom in Chandler, with $3.85 per student, and third place is Temple Chai in Phoenix, with $3.12 per student. The total amount raised was $6,000.

Blue Box Boom is a competition between local Jewish schools to raise money for water reclamation and other environmental needs of Israel.

Other participating schools were Beth El Early Childhood Education, Har Zion Early Childhood Center, Hebrew High School, The King David School, Phoenix Hebrew Academy, Valley of the Sun JCC preschools and the religious schools of Har Zion Congregation, Temple Beth Israel and Temple Emanuel of Tempe.

Ted Kort, JNF regional director, said JNF is planning another Blue Box Boom competition later this year.
