'Primary Colors' author to speak

The Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix Major Gifts Dinner for the 2001 Annual Campaign is set for Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, 24th Street and Missouri Avenue in Phoenix.

Guest speaker is Joe Klein, award winning political journalist and "anonymous" author of "Primary Colors."

Klein, who currently writes the "Letter from Washington" column for "The New Yorker," previously was a political reporter and columnist for "Newsweek." He is the author of "Payback: Five Marines After Vietnam" and "Woody Guthrie: a Life."

The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:15 p.m. Minimum family commitment to attend the dinner is $10,000 to the UJA/Federation Campaign.

Residents who make gifts to communities outside Phoenix are welcome, with an additional $1,000 minimum commitment to Phoenix suggested.

Adult children of major givers also are welcome.

To attend, call Sandra Sheinbein, 602-274-1800, ext. 124.
