Maccabi teams hold tryouts

Tryouts for the Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center Maccabi teams will take place throughout February at selected Scottsdale locations.

Tryouts for the Maccabi basketball team will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14; 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18; and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Cocopah Middle School, 6615 E. Cholla, Scottsdale. The team, coached by Rick Shienson, is for ages 14-16.

Tennis players, ages 13-16, can try out for the Maccabi Tennis team, coached by Seth Korey, on Fridays and Sundays in February by appointment at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

This year's Maccabi games will be held Aug. 5-10 in Sarasota, Fla.
