Pardes appoints school director

The Pardes Jewish Day School has appointed Tobee Waxenberg as director for its new middle school, which is scheduled to open in fall 2001 for fifth through seventh grades and expand to eighth grade in fall 2002.

For the past seven years, Waxenberg has taught kindergarten at the school. Her 20 years in education include eight years in the public high school system. She was the first coordinator of the Resource Center at the Bureau of Jewish Education, a faculty member of the Phoenix High School of Jewish Studies and a teacher and administrator in Temple Solel's Raker Religious School.

"I am very excited about it because it's a fulfillment of a dream that this school has had since we have opened up," Waxenberg said.

Her duties will include curriculum, teaching, scheduling and staff development.

The school will hold an open house for its elementary and middle school at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at the school, 6805 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley.

Call 480-991-4545 or 480-991-2955.
