Baby University teaches Jewish parenting skillsJewish Baby University begins a new six-week series 6:30-8:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at Temple Beth Israel, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale.The program is for expectant parents and teaches the Jewish aspects of birthing, naming, child rearing and parenting. Dr. Alan Singer, a pediatrician and mohel, will speak about brit milah (circumcision). Other topics include techniques for pain management, medical interventions, hospital procedures, birthing options, care of the newborn, breast and bottle feeding and selecting a pediatrician.
