'Heading south'

"Ariel Dorfman's Heading South, Looking North," part of a series of mini-courses at Temple Beth Israel, takes place 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the temple, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale.

David Foster, chairman of the Department of Languages and Literatures at Arizona State University, discusses Dorfman's autobiography about cultural and linguistic experiences that result from the social and political diaspora between Argentina, the United States and Chile.

The series is in conjunction with ASU and is provided by a grant from Hedy and Hy Slepicoff.
