Klezmatics bring klezmer music to lifeThe Klezmatics, touted as the planet's radical Jewish-roots band, present a Hanukkah program 5 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Scottsdale Center for the Arts, 7380 E. Second St.The September 1996 issue of Rhythm Music magazine says The Klezmatics "have been able to blend the unwieldy issues of contemporary life - their interest in other ethnic and popular music, political activism, their sexuality, their faith and their inclusive inclinations - into a personal, iconoclastic identity that nonetheless honors the tradition of klezmer."
