Writing on fire

Author Kate Wenner, former producer of ABC-TV's "20/20," will sign her book "Setting Fires" 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at Brentano's in Scottsdale Fashion Square.

"Setting Fires" (Scribner, $24 hardcover) is the story of Annie Fishman Waldmas, a 40-year-old documentary filmmaker, wife and mother, who must cope with her estranged father's cancer and a mysterious blaze that destroys her family's country home.

The novel also deals with anti-Semitism, as Waldmas investigates the connection between the fire in her home and fires set at two Jewish-owned businesses. Call Brentano's, 480-423-8717.
