Obituaries

Rose Kramer

Rose Kramer of Phoenix died Oct. 25, 2000. She was 84. She was born in Philadelphia and was a retired library assistant.

Survivors include her sons, Lee of Silver Springs, Md., and Stephen of Encino, Calif.; and sister, Gertrude Weinberg of Philadelphia.

Graveside services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Albert Plotkin officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Temple Beth Israel, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale 85253.



Helen Goldberg

Helen A. Goldberg of Phoenix died Nov. 8, 2000. She was 89. She was born in Queens, N.Y., and was a retired statistician. She was a member of Hadassah and NA'AMAT.

Survivors include her sons, George of Phoenix, and Michael of Long Island, N.Y.; and brother, William Abersman of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.

Graveside services were held at Beth El Cemetery, with Rabbi Zalman Levertov officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Hadassah Valley of the Sun, 7000 E. Shea Blvd., #250, Scottsdale 85254.



Avishai Halevy

Avishai Halevy of Phoenix died Nov. 5, 2000. He was 49. He was born in Israel and was an engineer.

Survivors include his son, Jonathan of Phoenix; mother, Irka of Israel; and brother, Amos of Israel.

Services were held at Phoenix Memorial Park, with Rabbi Zalman Levertov officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to Chabad Lubavitch Center, 2110 E. Lincoln Drive, Phoenix 85016.



Morris Mittleman

Morris I. Mittleman of Phoenix died Nov. 10, 2000. He was 83. He was born in Russia and moved to Arizona 26 years ago from New Jersey. He was a retired baker and served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Survivors include his daughter, Rita Jamnik of South Plains, N.J.; son, Jack of Scottsdale; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Green Acres Cemetery, with Rabbi Kenneth I. Segel officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary. Contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association, 102 W. McDowell Road, Phoenix 85003.
