AJTC opens with 'Romance'

"Romance in D," a comedy by James Sherman, opens the Arizona Jewish Theatre Company's 13th season.

The show runs Nov. 4-19 at the AJTC's new venue, The Playhouse on the Park, 1850 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.

The play tells the story of Isabel, a 40-year-old woman newly separated from her husband, who moves in across the hall from Charles, a 40-year-old bachelor.

Charles, a musicologist, has cloistered himself off from romantic entanglements. He keeps himself occupied with his work and visits from his mother. When Isabel, a broken-hearted poet, moves in next door, she has only her father for company.

Tickets are $25-27.
