Lillian and Barney Shanks

Lillian and Barney Shanks of Phoenix celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 15, 2000.

The Shankses were married Oct. 15, 1950, in Phoenix.

They celebrated on Oct. 20 in Oakland, Calif. They renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony Oct. 22, at Temple Isaaiah in Oakland, with their daughter, Rabbi Judy Shanks. Also joining the couple were daughters, Laurie Shanks of Albany, N.Y., Alane Shanks of Brookline, Mass., Gayle Shanks and Vicki Miles, both of Phoenix, and their families.
