Obituaries

Albert Antonowsky

Albert Antonowsky of Phoenix died Oct. 13, 2000. He was 72.

He was born in New York City and lived in Phoenix for 21 years. He was a retired merchant and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a member of Beth El Congregation and a volunteer for VICAP.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; daughters, Jayne of Philadelphia and Meryl Weiss of New York City; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Green Acres Cemetery, with Rabbi Michael Wasserman officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Contributions are suggested to Beth El Congregation, 1118 W. Glendale Ave., Phoenix 85021.



Max Paroly

Max H. Paroly of Scottsdale died Oct. 17, 2000. He was 92.

He was born in Newark, N.J., and moved to Arizona 25 years ago. He was a member of Temple Beth Israel.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva; daughter, Emma Kalfus of Scottsdale; son, Robert of New Jersey; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery, with Rabbi Kenneth I. Segel officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Alisa Rothfeder

Alisa Michelle Rothfeder of Phoenix died Oct. 12, 2000. She was 29.

She was born in Phoenix.

Survivors include her father, Ben of Moon Valley; mother, Joan Rothfeder Markel and stepfather, Anton Markel of Phoenix; sister, Andria of Phoenix; and grandparents, Nate and Ruth Bernstein of Phoenix.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Barry L. Cohen officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Contributions are suggested to Phoenix Children's Hospital, at the discretion of Dr. Alan Kaplan, 1111 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix 85006.



Beatrice Silver

Beatrice L. Silver of Phoenix died Oct. 9, 2000. She was 84.

She was born in Boston and moved to Arizona 40 years ago from California. She was a retired furniture store owner.

Survivors include her sons, Craig of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Eric of Scottsdale; and brother, Leon Shapiro of Oceanside, Calif.

Services were held in California. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.
