Obituaries

Ezra Schaffer

Ezra Schaffer of Phoenix died Sept. 29, 2000. He was 85.

He was born in Detroit, Mich. He was a retired sheet metal worker and served in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his companion, Edith Nussman; sons, Philip of San Francisco, Albert of Peoria, and Norman of Canyon Country, Calif.; daughters, Esta Libero of Phoenix, Rochelle Lesinsky and Michele, both of Los Angeles; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Arrangements were by Best Funeral Services.



Lloyd Kammer

Lloyd Z. Kammer of Phoenix died Oct. 9, 2000. He was 82.

He was born in Cleveland and moved to Arizona 29 years ago from Ohio. He was an anesthesiologist. He was a 33rd Degree Mason; life member of A.O.A.; chief of staff at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital; chief of staff at Phoenix Community Hospital; founding member and fellow of A.O.C.A.; and past president of Beth El in Akron, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife, Trudie; daughters, Joy Tucker and Jacalyn Rich, both of Phoenix; sons, Gary of Lewisville, N.C., Kenneth of Florence, S.C., and Michael Carpenter of Akron; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Albert Plotkin officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.
