Jews in entertainment

"Along Shubert Alley: Jews and the making of American Musical Theater," the first of three programs about the contributions by American Jews to American musical theater, film and television, will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Tri-City Jewish Community Center, 1965 E. Hermosa, Tempe.

All programs will be led by Dr. Michael Rubinoff, a specialist in 20th-century American popular culture.

Future series lectures are "Hollywood's Image of Jews: Visibility and Invisibility," Tuesday, Nov. 21, and "Television and Jewish Types," Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Admission is $30 for the series or $12 for each program.
