Full of humor

"Immigrant Humor: 1890-1920," the first of a series of mini-courses at Temple Beth Israel, takes place 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the temple, 10460 N. 56th St., Scottsdale.

Through the use of scripts, film clips and sound recordings, the lecture examines the importance of dialect humor in early Jewish American comedy, particularly of the immigrant encounter with the New World.

The series is in conjunction with Arizona State University and is provided by a grant from Hedy and Hy Slepicoff.
