Obituaries

Lawrence Weinberg

Lawrence Weinberg of Des Plaines, Ill., died Aug. 27, 2000. He was a winter resident in Phoenix for 15 years. He was 77.

He was born in Cleveland and was a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion and Jewish War Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; sons, Steven of Libertyville, Ill., and Perry of Evanston, Ill.; brother, Philip of University Heights, Ohio; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at Shalom Memorial Park in Arlington Heights, Ill. Arrangements were by Weinstein Family Services.


Morris Drubin

Morris Drubin of Sun City West died Sept. 7, 2000. He was 86.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Arizona in 1980. He was a self-employed C.P.A. and a member of Sun City Men's Club, Sun City West Square Dancers and Sun City West Bowling League.

Survivors include his wife, Rita; daughter, Florence of Sun City West; son, Harvey of Rosedale, Calif.; and sister, Jean Tobey of Plainfield, N.J.

Services were held at Sunland Lakeside Chapel. Arrangements were by Sunland Mortuary.

Sally Spar

Sally Spar of Sun City died Sept. 10, 2000. She was 74.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Arizona from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., in 1995. She was a bookkeeper and a member of Temple Beth Shalom of the Northwest Valley, American Association of University Women and National Oragnization for Women.

Survivors include her sons, David Billings of Peoria and Mitchell Billings of Williamsburg, Va,; brothers, Leo Merson of New York City, and Hyman Merson of East Brunswick, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Sunland Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Sunland Mortuary.
