Jan Jacobson, president of JB Communications in Phoenix, received the Governor's Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences at the 23rd Annual Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards. The award recognized her contributions to the television industry and her service to the community.

Cindy McCain, Steve Geringer, Lisa Holland, Bunnie Bernstein and Dr. Daphne Yaniv have been appointed to the board of directors of the Arizona Region of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Valley Youth Theatre was named "Arts Organization of the Year" at the 10th Annual Business in the Arts awards breakfast, which was Aug. 16, at the Arizona Biltmore Resort.

Patrick Eng has joined the firm of Salomon Smith Barney of Phoenix, as a financial consultant.

Desert Voices Oral Learning Center in Phoenix has appointed Harriett Choffel as executive director. She has 20 years experience in oral deaf education.

Sue Bustamante has been named senior accountant for Abalos & Associates in Phoenix.

Gordon Lewis has joined the firm of Brown and Bain in Tucson. He practices in the areas of labor and employment law.
