Linda Zell was named Temple Kol Ami's new administrator. She is formerly from Rhode Island, where she administered a community Hebrew school. She is a recent graduate of Arizona State University.

KPHO-TV5 has hired Diana Sullivan as an anchorwoman and reporter. She will co-anchor the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts, beginning Aug. 21. She was previously the principal anchorwoman for the Northwest Cable News Channel in Seattle.

The University of Judaism's Conservative Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies has appointed Rabbi Miriam Weisel as assistant dean. Weisel was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary. She is a native of Los Angeles and received a bachelor's degree in psychology from UCLA and a master's degree in Hebrew letters from the University of Judaism. She served for two years as director of education at the Dave and Mary Alper Jewish Community Center in Miami.

Craig J. Simon, of the law firm Levenbaum & Cohen, has been elected president of the Phoenix chapter of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association. Simon practices in the fields of personal injury and domestic relations law.

Neiman Marcus has named Boris Milgram vice president and general manager of its Scottsdale store. Milgram most recently served as merchandise manager of Neiman Marcus' Ala Moana store.

Mara R. Baier, D.O., has joined Family & Senior Care-Peoria as a health-care provider. Baier is certified in family medicine by the American Board of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences and is a faculty member at Midwestern University in Glendale.

IMPACT for Enterprising Women, an educational and networking organization for small business owners, has chosen its Millennium Honorees. Distinguished honorees are Catherine Midgette, Mobile On-Site Mammography; Rita Davenport, Arbonne International; and Ruth Tan-Lim, Dobson Pediatric Center. Honorees are Annette Alvarez, Alvarez, Inc.; Debbie Gaby, Sleep America; Francie Mallery, Self-Empolyment Loan Fund, Inc.; Michele Martin, Swift Aviation; Carrie Mertz, Mertz-Goldwater Public Relations; Joan Meacham, National Women's History Project; and Diane Nevill, Glendale Public Library.

Arizona Opera has elected its new board of trustees members. Officers to the board are Robert S. Tancer, president; Kasey Havas, first vice president; Fred Dal Broi and Angela Singer, vice presidents; Gretchen S. Kitchel, treasurer; and Kay Kretsch, secretary.

Erik Olsen of Mesa was installed to AARP's board of directors at a convention in Orlando, Fla. Prior to his election, Olsen was AARP state president of Arizona.

Mike Hosking, CEO of Canyon Telecom, Inc., has been elected president-elect of Phoenix Rotary 100. He will assist the president during his term. He will become president of the organization in July 2001.

William Jung is the new manager of the Sedona Racquet Club & Spa. Jung is a longtime member of Disabled American Veterans.

Planned Parenthood has appointed Ingrid Gold as associate medical director. Gold has worked previously as a clinician for Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona and as a nurse-midwife.

Frank B. Pugh, vice president of Bernard, Dietrich & Associates, Inc., has received a service award from the North Phoenix Rotary for his contributions to the organization this past year.

Heritage Pest Control has opened the Katydid Insect Museum located at 5060 W. Bethany Home Road, Glendale. The museum will offer tours to the public and school groups. Tours can be scheduled by calling 623-931-8718.

Classic Residence by Hyatt and the Plaza Companies in Scottsdale was granted the grand award for the Best Seniors' Project for Active Adults in the 2000 Gold Nugget Competition. The Pacific Coast Builders Conference and Builder, a national magazine of the housing industry, sponsored the awards.
