Jack Eisenberg

Jack Eisenberg of Peoria died July 8, 2000. He was 83.

He was born in Chicago. He was the supervisor of a retail store.

Survivors include his son, Jerry of Phoenix.

Graveside services were held at Green Acres Cemetery, with Rabbi Lisa Tzur officiating.

Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Irvin Golden

Irvin Golden of Phoenix died July 10, 2000. He was 81.

He was born in Cleveland. He was a retired salesman. He was a member of Beth El Congregation.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; son, Robert of Phoenix; sisters, Gertrude Finkelstein of Philadelphia and Faye Olney of Holland, Pa.; brother, Albert of Philadelphia; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Beth El Cemetery, with Rabbi Alan Bright officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Eileen Goldie

Eileen Goldie of Phoenix died June 30, 2000. She was 70.

She was born in St. Paul, Minn. She was a retired restaurant manager.

Survivors include her daughters, Suzanne Liszt and Marjorie Rosenman, both of Phoenix, and Debra of Mill Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Beth El Cemetery, with Rabbi Mark Bisman officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Sara Greenfield

Sara P. Greenfield of Scottsdale died July 11, 2000. She was 87.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a retired saleswoman with Lord and Taylor's in New York.

Survivors include her daughter, Fern Smith of Chandler; son, Harvey of Scottsdale; sister, Mildred Weinberg of Del- ray Beach, Fla.; brother, Harold Diamond of Far Rockaway, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be held today at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Barry Cohen officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix 85016.



Ruth Pollock

Ruth R. Pollock of Scottsdale died June 30, 2000. She was 67.

She was born in Chicago and moved to Arizona in 1982 from Highland Park, Ill. She was a retired teacher's aide and was a member of Reach for Recovery.

Survivors include her husband, Morton; daughter, Sheri Fann of Scottsdale; sons, David of Peoria and Barry of Scottsdale; brother, Martin Smoler of Inverness, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Selma Shefler

Selma Shefler of Chapel Hill, N.C., died July 8, 2000. She was 96.

She was born in Norfolk, Va., and lived in Phoenix for more than 50 years. She was an officer for the Council for Civic Unity in Phoenix. She was human relations commissioner for the City of Phoenix and she founded the Back to School Clothing Drive. She received the American Jewish Committee's LEAP Golden Heart Award for community service, the Bahai Community's Human Rights Award and the Hon Kachina "12 Who Care" Award.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Carl of Chapel Hill; son, Stephen of Oakland, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be held in North Carolina.

Betty Weiss

Betty Weiss of Delray Beach, Fla. died June 29, 2000. She was 85.

She was born in Russia and was formerly a resident of Scottsdale. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, David; daughter, Lynn Weisfeld of Boca Raton, Fla.; sons, Lee of Paradise Valley and Jeffrey of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Florida. Arrangements were by Funeral Options.
