PHA pupils will travel to IsraelFour seventh- and eighth-graders from Phoenix Hebrew Academy are in Israel this week as part of Massuah, a journey toward Jewish identity for bar- and bat- mitzvah youth.Matthew Berger, Yale Cook, Daniel Eisenberg and Debbie Fleming will visit historical sites; meet with citizens of towns, settlements and kibbutzim; and attend celebrations and functions in the presence of the heads of state and senior army officials. The trip is under the auspices of several organizations, including the State of Israel, Jewish Agency for Israel and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. |
