Pianist-composer exalts Monet's work

Valley pianist-composer Jay Steinberg will perform his three-movement "Suite for Monet" during his "Journeys and Impressions" concert 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at the Kerr Cultural Center, 6110 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale.

The suite celebrates Claude Monet's art, and was first composed for a performance at the private showing of the Phoenix Art Museum's fall 1999 exhibition of "Monet at Giverny."

The concert also includes compositions from Steinberg's television and film scores and compact discs, as well as familiar songs by Gershwin, Liszt and Andrew Lloyd-Webber.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the box office, 480-965-5377, or at Dillard's, 480-503-5555.
