Eric Fox of Scottsdale received his real estate license and was promoted to connections director at Century 21, A.V.I. International in March. At 19, he is the youngest connections director in the Century 21 organization.

Fox is a business student at Phoenix Community College.

Phoenix Theatre will honor Marty Latz of The Latz Negotiation Institute for his work as a board member of several children's and arts organizations at a "Spring Swing 2000" event at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 at the Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.

Others being recognized are Alison Rapping of Make a Difference and Tracy Bame of Phelps Dodge Community Relations. For details, call 602-258-1974.

Alexa Rachel Bloom was recently honored as a member of the All-Arizona Academic Team at a Mesa Community College luncheon. A member of the Theta Beta Kappa honor society, she maintained a 4.0 grade point average during her two years at Glendale Community College. She is attending ASU West on a full tuition scholarship.

Bloom also volunteers one day each week at Home Base Youth Services, which aids homeless youth in Phoenix.

Jewish National Fund-Phoenix has elected new board members, including Richard Brooks, attorney; Howard Cabot, Brown & Bain; Valerie Richter, VJS Property Visions, Inc.; Dave Sherman, S.T.I. Seminars; Don Tapia, ESSCO Group Management; Mikki Yitzchaki, attorney; and Joel Zolondek, Zolondek, Strassels, Green & Freed, P.C.

Dr. Lester Klebe has relocated his podiatry practice to 4910 N. 44th St. in the Lafayette Medical Center, just south of Camelback Road in Phoenix. Klebe has practiced in Phoenix for 25 years, specializing in foot and ankle care for adults and children. His practice includes the use of sports medicine and the treatment of injuries.

KAET-TV, Channel 8 volunteer Kathryn Zatz was honored for outstanding service by the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies at a volunteer recognition luncheon on April 3. Since 1974, she has recruited more than 5,000 volunteers during 60 on-air drives that have raised more than $10 million for the public television station.

Wayne Bailey has been named the new director of the School of Music in the Arizona State University of College of Fine Arts. Bailey comes to ASU from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he had been director of the School of Music and professor of music since 1998.

He holds a doctorate of musical arts degree in instrumental conducting from the University of Colorado; a master's degree of music in trumpet performance from the University of Michigan; and a bachelor's degree in music education from Iowa State University.

The Arizona Humanities Council board of directors recently elected Bonnie Campbell of Lake Havasu City and Dr. Max Oelschlaeger of Flagstaff to three-year terms. Campbell is the director of the Mohave County Library District and Oelschlaeger is professor of humanities at Northern Arizona University.

Karla B. Levy has joined Staff One Search as a recruiting specialist. Levy, a graduate of Northeastern University, will concentrate her activities in the area of permanent placement/direct-hire recruitment. She has an extensive background in human resources, business and management.

Kim West has been named health-care sales counselor for Classic Residence, Senior Living by Hyatt and The Plaza Companies, a resort-style life-care retirement community in Scottsdale. Mary Ellen Collins has been named outreach coordinator for the community.

Chanen Construction Company, Inc. of Phoenix has named Richard Parker a senior vice president.

IMPACT for Enterprising Women, the Phoenix affiliate of National Association for Female Executives, has named its 2000 board of directors: President Helen Goldman, owner of Primo Promos; Vice President Phyllis VandenBrul, owner of Mobile Computer Professor; Secretary Ruthann Clemens, owner of R/C Systems; and Treasurer Gail T. Alian, freelancer.

Century 21 Heinemann Realty has merged with Century 21 Arizona Foothills. Tina and David Robbins have run Heinemann Realty since 1984, when they took it over from Peggy and Syl Heinemann, Tina's parents, who founded the company in 1963.

The office specializes in relocation services and serves the greater Phoenix community. The new location is at 8910 N. Central Ave., Phoenix.

Two Arizona State University students have received prestigious Goldwater scholarships, the nation's highest undergraduate award in science, mathematics and engineering.

Brian Keith Lutz, a sophomore from Tempe, and Jimmy Saade, a junior from Mesa, will each receive $7,500 per year for up to two years.

Saade is majoring in biology with an economics minor and Lutz is pursuing three degrees in biology, history and finance. Each has a 4.0 grade-point average.

North Scottsdale's general service law firm, Peskind Hymson & Goldstein, P.C. has moved to 14646 N. Kierland Blvd., Suite 255, in the Mesquite Corporate Center.

The firm, which provides litigation, transaction, intellectual property, bankruptcy and other services to closely held companies, has been headquartered at the Scottsdale Airpark since the firm's founding in 1989.

Merton E. Marks, partner at Lewis and Roca LLP, was recently elected a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of London. He also received certification as an arbitrator in insurance and reinsurance cases by the Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society of the Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances in Geneva, Switzerland.

Marks represents international corporations in product liability, commercial and insurance litigation and arbitration.

Adam Berardi has been named manager of The Monsoon Pan-Asian Bistro. The new restaurant offers a variety of exotic Asian cuisine and is located at 2048 E. Baseline Road in Mesa.

Terry Williams, managing editor at Arizona Women's News, has been elected for a two-year term to the board of directors of the Arizona Business Alliance. Williams will work with the board to implement the objectives and mission of the organization.

KPHO-TV5 appointed Wayne Garcia as the co-anchor for "First News at 4:30" with Wendy Burch. Garcia replaces Jay Alan.

Garcia was anchor and assignment reporter at KCAL-TV in Los Angeles and has anchored and reported in Fresno, Calif. at KJEO-TV and in Seattle at KIRO-TV.

Governor Jane Dee Hull has appointed J. Richard Gama as a judge of the Maricopa County Superior Court. Gama is associated with the firm of Roush, McCracken, Gama, Guerrero and Miller.

Patty Briguglio, president of MMI Associates, has been named to the board of directors of Camp CEO, a weeklong summer camp that offers girls the opportunity to learn, grow, and explore the world of business ownership.

MMI Associates is a Scottsdale-based marketing and public relations firm.

Richard Eller was promoted to Area Learning Consultant at Cox Communications on March 26. Eller completed his master's degree in organizational management at the University of Phoenix.

George Schatzki, a professor and former dean of the University of Connecticut School of Law and the University of Washington College of Law, is joining the faculty of Arizona State University College of Law in fall 2000.

He has been a visiting professor at the law school for the past year.

Jack E. Davis has been named Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation.

Davis has served as President of Energy Delivery and Sales for Arizona Public Service since 1998 and will retain this position in addition to his new duties. He has been with APS for more than 22 years.

Sindel Network Consulting announced that Steve Byrum has joined the firm as Director of Sales. Sindel is a full service network-consulting firm that offers a complete range of network design and service solutions for clients.
