Obituaries

Alex Moed

Alex Moed of Phoenix died March 7, 2000. He was 84.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Arizona 50 years ago from New York. He was a retired postal worker and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a charter member of Jewish War Veterans Post #194, a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #720 and a member of Beth El Congregation.

Survivors include his brother Bernard Moed of Phoenix.

Services were held at Beth El Cemetery, with Rabbi Rick Sherwin officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Elsie Fox

Elsie Fox of Phoenix died March 9, 2000. She was 85.

She was born in New York City and moved to Arizona 24 years ago from New York. She was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker and was a member of Volunteers Plus.

Survivors include her daughters, Jasmine Fox of Portland, Ore., and Nancy Meinel of Reston, Va.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Martin S. Scharf officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.

Ada Schneider

Ada Schneider of Scottsdale died March 13, 2000. She was 92.

She was born in Melrose Park, Ill., and moved to Arizona 25 years ago from Illinois. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Babs Gordon of Paradise Valley; son, John Schneider of Woodland Hills, Calif.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi Barton Lee officiating. Arrangements were by Sinai Mortuary.
