Leonard Mark Young of Phoenix died May 12, 2009. He was 71. He was born in Hartford, Conn. He owned a scrap metal business. He was a member of B'nai B'rith.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughter, Elysa of Phoenix; son, Scott of Las Vegas; brothers, Sidney of West Bloomfield, Mich., and Lawrence of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; and four grandchildren.
Services were held at Sinai Mortuary Chapel, with Rabbi David Pinkwasser officiating. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Irwin H. Brodsky
Irwin H. Brodsky of Phoenix died May 14, 2009. He was 73. He was born in Bronx, N.Y. He was a retired postal clerk. He was affiliated with Kivel Campus of Care.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha.
Services were held at Beth Israel Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Sinai Mortuary.

Mary Waxman
Mary Waxman, 94, passed away on May 7, 2009. She was the wife of the late Sam Waxman. Mary was born in Russia in 1914 and immigrated to Toronto in 1919.
Mary was a member of Na'amat and volunteered at the old Maryland Avenue JCC. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Garry) Shuster, son, Kenneth (Gloria) Waxman; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Mary was a special lady, with a great zest for life and her beautiful smile will always be remembered.
Graveside services were held at Beth El Cemetery and officiated by Rabbi Lavinsky and Rabbi Magel of Sedona. Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Sinai Mortuary.
Phyllis Levine
Phyllis Levine, (PhePhe) a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, was laid to rest on Monday, May 18, 2009, her 78th birthday. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Stanley Levine, daughters, Wendy Drucker, Julie (Drucker) Donnelly and Lori (Levine) Dovgan, and sons, Dr. Dennis Levine and Dr. Gary Levine. PhePhe was a loving and generous grandmother to her eight grandchildren.
Phyllis and Stan moved here from Detroit about 25 years ago. PhePhe was known for her sparkling personality, and open hands and heart. She was a member of WISK Hadassah.
Services were held at Green Acres Cemetery. Donations are suggested to Desert Oasis Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
