It was a joyous occasion on July 27, when members of Congregation Or Tzion participated in a Torah procession to the synagogue’s new home in Scottsdale.

Congregants carried the Torah scrolls from the synagogue’s old location at 9096 E. Bahia Drive in Scottsdale to its new location at 16415 N. 90th St., just 10 minutes walking distance.

The procession was accompanied by singing and dancing.

Congregation Or Tzion’s new home is a free-standing 22,000-square-foot building. The new sanctuary will seat 500 and the social hall can accommodate about 280 to 300 guests for luncheons, dinners or other events. There will also be room in the building for classrooms, offices and meat and dairy kitchens.

The final service in the old building was held on July 31 for Tisha B’Av. JN
