Sun Lakes Jewish Congregation recently launched a new project to help lone soldiers, volunteers from all over the world who serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

As part of The Lone Soldier Project, members of the Chandler congregation are preparing personal care packages and knitting winter hats for the soldiers. The first set was recently delivered to Chayal el Chayal (Hebrew for Soldier to Soldier), a lone soldier center in Jerusalem, for distribution by Dr. Michael Cohen of Sun Lakes, chairman of the project.
