The Israeli-American Council’s Mishelanu program (IAC Mishelanu) recently held a kickoff event for a new club at Arizona State University. The program provides a unique venue for Israeli-American students to explore their distinct identity and build community among others with the same background. Mishelanu, Hebrew for “one of us,” is IAC’s college leadership program.

Jewlyweds, a program for Jewish newlyweds through the Jewish Arizonans on Campus (JAC) JLive division, met on Sept. 7 for their monthly session, where the men and women were separated and guided in a discussion about marriage and relationships by Dr. Michael and Carol Dean. Sheila Groman describes “Remember Jerusalem,” one of the many quilts she has made, at the opening reception of her quilt exhibition at Temple Solel on Sept. 11. The event was attended by approximately 100 congregants, friends, quilting enthusiasts and family members who listened to Groman discuss her many experiences relating to her quilting and the background stories relating to the specific quilts that were viewed. The exhibit is on display through Nov. 30 at Temple Solel.
