More than 1 million Jews expected to participate in global Shabbat Project

Communities everywhere — from Togo to Paraguay to right here in the Valley — are coming together on Oct. 27 and 28 to celebrate the Shabbat Project, a global grassroots phenomenon dedicated to honoring and celebrating the day of rest.

Started in South Africa by Rabbi Dr. Warren Goldstein in 2013, the Shabbat Project has grown exponentially. This year, more than 1 million Jews in more than 1,000 cities across 94 countries are expected to participate.
