Jewish film screenings and festivals blossom throughout the Valley

A young Jewish man becomes a white supremacist. Jews trapped inside a totalitarian dictatorship struggle to escape. A Jewish musician travels through the American South confronting racism and a host of other social ills along the way.

These are the stories told in “The Believer,” “Refusenik” and “Road to Eden,” three films shown at just a few of the film screenings hosted by various Jewish organizations around the Valley and which are growing in number and popularity. Currently, the Arizona Jewish Historical Society (AZJHS), Valley Beit Midrash (VBM), MAKOR and the East Valley JCC (EVJCC) all host film screenings. In addition to these, there are two Jewish film festivals in the Valley and northern Arizona.
