Legislative candidate Adam Stevens awoke July 15 to find anti-Semitic graffiti spray-painted on his property. Stevens, a Republican, is running for the state House of Representatives in District 16 in the far Southeast Valley.

“Go home Jew” painted next to a swastika appeared on the driveway and at the front entrance of his home in San Tan Valley, and a swastika defaced a campaign sign. “Confronted with this, I felt a rush of emotions,” Stevens said. “I went from angry to confused to sad to frustrated and back to sad again. It’s sad that in 2016 something like this has become almost par for the course in American politics.”
