After Nov. 6, the Republican candidate for Arizona secretary of state, Steve Gaynor, could find himself elected to the highest statewide office held by a Jewish person in Arizona history.

But the thought that he might make history is not foremost in Gaynor’s mind, though he is proud to be representing the Jewish community. His focus is on reshaping the office of secretary of state.
