In this week when the United States officially moved its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, we look back to our coverage of the summer and fall of Israel in 1967.

In the days and weeks following the Six-Day War, the pages of the Jewish News were filled with pleas to send money to Israel to help the nation and its people recover. As summer moved into fall, however, the tone of panic began to ease into one of amazement at the reunification of Jerusalem, which included the Old City.
